Traralgon Swimming Club News

The Victorian State Sprints competition held over the weekend resulted in the fantastic result of 16 swimmers making 33 finals winning 6 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Mikaela Cornelissen had a terrific meet with 3 gold with victories in 50 fly(27.58), back (30.29) and free (26.90) in the 15 years age group. 13 year old Alex Tsebelis excelled with gold in the free (26.17) and silvers in the back (30.35) and fly (28.35). Melina DeCort had a strong victory in the 13 years back (30.95) and Taylah DaRos in the 16 years 50 fly (29.12). Ellodie was successful in winning a silver in the 13 years fly (30.05) and bronze in the back (32.72). 17 year Brayden Haney won silver in the 50 breast ( 30.97) and Caiden Gill won silver in the 15 years 50 free(24.06) breaking the Out of Gippsland 16 years and under record.

Traralgon’s relays again had a great meet winning bronze in the Girls 16/under 5 x 50 free relay – Bridie O’Keefe ( 28.33),Erin Roberts (27.35), Mikaela Cornelissen (26.52), Fabienne Schoutens (27.76) and Taylah DaRos (27.36) and the Boys also bronze – Caiden Gill (24.29), Riley Akers (25.64), Fin Peddle (26.27), Alex Tsebelis (25.60) and Ashton Arthur (25.59).
