On Saturday 15th February the Australian Age Group Open Water Championships were held at Geelong. Traralgon’s Ellodie Reid added another dimension to her already impressive distance swimming repertoire by winning the 12 – 13 year age group 5 kilometre open water event.
Results were as follows:
Girl’s 13 years 5km
1 Ellodie Reid, VIC 1:10:45.11
2 Jemima Hutton, VIC, 1:10:48.28
3 Jade Slee, QLD, 1:10:50.80
The first 3 swimmers were within 6 seconds of each other which was a great tussle for the medals and Ellodie kicking at the end to win the first ever Gold medal for a girl in the history of the Club. Congratulations Ellodie on this fantastic performance ; congratulations Ben, Dean and Sam for your outstanding preparation and coaching and congratulations to parents Carole and Jason for your tremendous support and management.
