The Traralgon Swimming Club Presentation celebrating the 2013/14 season, was held at the Premier Function Room on May 3. The night was attended by 240 Traralgon swimmers and family as well as special guests and Life members Brian and Michelle Ford, Len and Heather Haney, Bruce Wright and his wife, Una, and Gippsland District President Jackie Madden.
Club trophies were awarded on the night for participation, effort and excellence. Special awards were presented – Life Membership was given the Senior Performance Coach Ben Geard for his years of service and for the difference he has made to the club as swimmer and coach. The Bruce Cain Outstanding Contribution to the Club Award was given to Michael Mihaly for his tireless efforts on behalf of club members across several roles. A Service Award for 10 years continuous involvement with the Traralgon Swimming Club was awarded to Jessica Norwood who started with the club as a 7 & Under swimmer in 2004.
A photographic and video presentation (thanks to the dedicated photographers we have amongst us!) accompanied the Presentation delivered by Club President, Jane Mitchell. Head Coach Brian Ford spoke to those gathered about the future direction of the Club and thanked all for their support and teamwork. Club coaches, Michelle Ford, Peter Haberl, Georgia Collings, Dean Gooch, Ben Geard, and Brian Ford were thanked by Team Captains and President Jane Mitchell. Team Captains, Trent Morrow, Maggie O’Keefe, Erin Roberts and Caiden Gill were congratulated for their efforts over two seasons and their dedicated and gracious representation of the Club.
Traralgon’s many Assistant Coaches, Zoe Trembath, Regan Webster, Shannon O’Neill, Hayley O’Neill, Taylah Da Ros, Erin Roberts, Fabienne Schoutens, Jess Norwood, Nicole Moon, Sam Roberts and Steph Spehar were thanked by Junior Development Coach Peter Haberl for the many hours of assistance and support they have given to squads.
