The Club celebrated the 2021/22 swimming year during a very special evening at the Traralgon Greyhound Club on August 20. 175 members attended with others using Zoom to join us remotely.
120 Age trophies were presented and special awards given. Full list of winners to follow.
Club President, Jane Mitchell, recapped the 2021/22 season, training squads were introduced by their coaches and Coach’s Awards were given before a wonderful dinner was enjoyed. Following dinner, Club and Age trophies and other awards were presented and swimmer’s achievements were applauded. The Awards part of the evening climaxed with the introduction of the club’s top ten and the naming of the Club Champion, Molly Cargill.
Club Captains from 2021/22, Audrey Lee and Jordyn Cargill and Vice Captains Molly Cargill and Joel Baillie presented trophies to swimmers and Club Captains for 2022/23, Zoe Dowler and Will Pendergast spoke on behalf of the swimmers, thanking the coaches, parents and their fellow swimmers for a terrific season.
Amongst the special presentations was the awarding of Life Membership to Michael Mihaly. Michael has been a tireless supporter and worker for the club as well as the Gippsland District, for the past 15 years and is a worthy Life Member.
At the close of proceedings, the 2022 Country Video was shared. Caydence Bezzina and Caiden Gill had filmed and edited extensive footage from the Mildura comp held in January and put together a fun and fabulous 20 minute video capturing the excitement, camaraderie and buzz that is Country LC Championships. We thank Caydence and Caiden for their work on this – very entertaining. If you would like a copy, please contact Brian.
