Congratulations to Georgia Tsebelis winner of the Australia Day Medal for highest FINA point score in a race, and to Alex Tsebelis, winner of the Rob Godfrey Trophy as most outstanding 13 and under swimmer of the meet.
Enormous thanks to the parents who supported Traralgon’s catering efforts with food donations and support on the weekend. Thank you to Helen and Tania for their hard work both leading up to the event and during the weekend. It was a huge undertaking to keep up with the demands of a hungry crowd as well as ensuring that the officials were well hydrated and nourished. We anticipate that your efforts, whilst providing a fantastic service, will have also been worthwhile for the club.
Thanks too to Len H, Adrian I, Karen T, Jane Shaw and Peter Lee who were members of the Gippsland Swimming Country Organising Committee and did a great deal of work to get the Championships up and running in such a professional and organised manner. Must also mention the hard work done by Heather H and Dick S – great support! Traralgon played a key role in all areas of planning and presentation – well done all!
That said – it was still for and about the swimmers, and they made it well worth our while with such gutsy and impressive swimming. Congratulations to all – from those who competed for the first time to those well seasoned and experienced Country competitors who made Countries 2013 one to remember.
And finally, congratulations and well done to Traralgon’s coaches – led by Brian. It was your efforts, knowledge and enthusiasm that guided our awesome team to victory number 13 in twenty-thirteen!
