It was a great night for the Traralgon Swimming Club when Emily Beecroft took out the Junior Gippstar Award for 2014/15 after being the winner for the month of May. Emily was nominated for her phenomenal performance at National Age Championships in April. Mikaela Cornelissen was congratulated for being the monthly winner in the “Open” division for September 2014 after a wonderful performance at the SC championships.
The Club was given the award for “Club of the Year” for our on-going success at all levels. The Traralgon Club is the most successful Country club at National, State, Country and local level – quite an achievement over several years. And, as Sam is often quoted as saying – we have only just begun! In thanking the Academy and accepting the award on behalf of the club, President Jane Mitchell noted that the club’s success is in no small way due to the strong partnership, respect and support between swimmers, parents and coaches. One Team.
Congratulations to Emily and Mikaela and to the Club on being acknowledged by the Gippsland Sports Academy through the Gippstar Awards.
