Country Championships – Did it for Ben

January 27, 2015

Traralgon Swimming Club News

Congratulations to Swimmers, Coaches and Parents (One Team) for the outstanding effort over the Country Swimming Championships weekend!  Traralgon won its 15th title in 16 years by 1195 points.

The theme of the event was “Doing it for Ben” as we honoured Ben Geard who is without doubt the club’s ‘greatest’ Country Champs swimmer of all time.  Ben moved to Queensland to pursue his coaching career late last year but returned to represent Traralgon ~ once again making finals and winning individual and relay medals.

The team won the Napthine Shields for both Men and Women as well as the Australia Day Trophy and the Allan Monaghan Trophy as Premier Club.  Rule the Pool!!
